Dr KETTANI Hamza has constituted HABOUS, according
to a deed executed and authenticated by Adouls and registered with a
competent tribunal of Rabat in the consignation note n°25, book
219, page 131, his personal library with all its contents of scientific
works, either manuscripts or printed books to be profitable to
Individual as well as legal entities can assign, as
HABOUS, movables goods or real estate to the foundation. All Habous
goods and real property should be duly consigned in a special register
that will be placed at the disposal of any interested person for

APPELLATION , REGISTERED OFFICE AND DURATION
Article 1: Foundation, designation
In accordance with the Dahir in November , 15,1958
pertaining to the setting up of associations and the modifying texts,
and in vertue of the mentionned provisions and the current statutes, an
autonomous association is established and enjoy a legal status and a
financial independence. This association is designated as " SCiENTifiC
KETTANi FOUNDATiON "
Article 2: Registered office of the foundation
The head office of the foundation is located at Ribat
al-fath Residence, apart 01, Avenue Arar Hay Riad – Rabat .
The registered office can be transferred to an other
place and outliers can be established.
Article 3: The foundation goals and mission.
The foundation aims the promotion of scientific
research and places at the researchers diposal monographs, reference
works, manuscripts and other documents made HABOUS by Dr Hamza KETTANI
or any documents the foundation will acquire.
It will place at the disposal of researchers, any document
assigned as HABOUS to the benefit of the foundation by any individual
or legal entities, in accordance with the preamble of the current
The foundation will also endeavour to establish
scientific and cultural exchanges relationships between similar
associations ,at the national and the international levels . It will
also organise scientific and cultural manifestations.
Article 4: Duration of the foundation
The duration of the foundation is illimited. It will end
by a dissolution, according to the mentionned HABOUS texts.
FOUNDATION BODIES: BOARD OF DIRECTORS, EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Article 5: BOARD OF DIRECTORS
A board of directors supervises the
functioning and effeciency of the foundation. It is made of 10
members at least and 30 members at the outmost, designated according to
articles 7 and 8.
Article 6: Board of directors mandate
Members of the board of directors are appointed for life
and last in their function until there death the resignation of
any of them or according to a decision made by 2/3 of the board of

The members of the board of directors are mentioned in the annex
of this status.
Article8: Appointment of the board of directors members and approval.
In case of vacancy within the first board of
directors and the following, the Curator "NADIR", proposes a name
of a successor to be approved by the 2/3 majority of members. The
successor cannot participate in the debate until her or his appointment
is approved by the board of directors.
Article 9: Board of director chairman
A Curator "NADIR" presides over the board of
directors. One of his two vice-presidents can hold the interim as well
as any member designated by the president.
In case of the president death the function of chairman
will be bestowed upon a qualified person according to statutes.
Article 10:The board of directors' meeting.
The board of directors hold its meeting following an
invitation issued by the chairman or the majority of its members. The
board of directors hold two meetings per a year at least.
Article 11: function of the board of directors.
The functions of the board of directors are as follows :
- Make statutes and
rules of procedure of the foundation and make sure they are
- Decide over the
budget, adopt it and watch over its use by the person
holding the Curator "Nadir" function;
- Use its rights to
approve any expenditure pertaining to purchasing, exchanging or any
restoration work, any equipment or extending of the foundation;
- Receive any donation
granted to the foundation and place at the disposal of researchers,
scholarships, awards to help the foundation;
- Exercise its rights
in making decisions pertaining to any question concerning the
foundation, at the majority of its members;
- Make rules of
procedures to guarantee the functioning of the foundation;
- Decide over a program
of scientific and cultural activities.
Article 12: Curator and executive committee
According to the Habous document mentioned
above, in the preamble of this statute, Dr Hamza kettani has
appointed MM Ali Kettani and Othmane Kettani as
assistants of the Nadir, curator of the foundation. He will
appoint a bureau constituted of Dr Khadija bent El hadi
TLEMÇANI, Malika bent Hamza KETTANI , Mohammed Dafir ben Omar
. Oussama ben Abdellah el Kamel KETTANI
Article 13: Curator's function.
The curator is in charge of the execution of the
budget, expenses provided for in the budget, collection of receipts, on
behalf of the foundation. He represents the foundation with the
public administration and private sector.
The curator is also the official
representative of the board of directors with tribunals.

It’s abbreviated name is “KETTANI SCIENTIFIC

The Goals and mission of the
The Foundation aims to
Promote scientific research, whatever its nature especielly in the
fields of the social sciences.
Endeavor to renew the Moroccan and Arab scientific inheritance.
Compile and provide scientific researcher in this field with a
computerized corpora of references through the establishment of a
Organize conferences and scientific and cultural seminars in
collaboration with similar organizations and institutions inside and
outside of Morocco.
Establish scientific and cultural relationships between the Foundation
and similar institutions which work in the same scientific field of
research, either at the national or at the international level.
Provide support for the researchers in accordance with conventions and
agreements of research established between the Foundation and the Units
of Formation and Research (UFR) of the Moroccan universities.
Encourage the researchers through scholarships, subsidies and any other
motivation to serve the objectives of the Foundation.
Disseminate scientific research related to the Moroccan cultural
The Foundation is constituted of founding members, associated and
Founding members: are considered founding members, members
whose names are mentioned in article 7 of the Statutes of the

carry out the objectives of the Foundation and engage, in doing so, to
respect its statutes. The Board of Directors of the Foundation approves
the membership of the new members.
Honorary members: Are considered honorary members the personalities
chosen by the Board of Directors of the Foundation for their
contribution to the success of its programs and the achievement of its
aims and mission as well as for the services they offer for the benefit
of the Foundation. They have the right to attend the meetings of the
Foundation as observers.
The Foundation is managed by a Board of Directors made up of ten
members at least and thirty at the outmost. An Executive Committee
helps the Council of Administration in supervising the functioning of
the Foundation. This Executive Committee is composed of:

Board of Directors meetings
- the Board of directors meets twice per annum at the request of his
President or an invitation issued by half of the members of the
Council, or whenever it is necessary. Decisions require a
relative majority. The debates of the Councils are registered in
minutes signed by the President and the Secretary-General of the

least on the request of its President or whenever it is necessary.
The resources of the Foundation consist of:
- voluntary Contributions of the members of the Foundation in the
form of gifts or by way of Habous.
- Supports and subsidies bestowed on the Foundation by the
scientific institutions in Morocco.
The President of the Board of directors is the legal
representative of the Foundation.
The board of directors is in charge of approving the resources of
the Foundation and in control of its spending. The chairman signs the
banking transactions and the Secretary-general holds a register of the
receipts and expenditure and keeps the relevant documents.
The Executive Committee takes care of the application of these
rules of procedure and informs the Board of Directors of any revisions
and amendments made to these rules of procedure.
